Tour overview

Fly to Whitehaven Beach by helicopter and have it almost to yourselves. The Whitehaven Rest and Relax package with Airlie Beach Helicopters is a private 2 hour tour that combines a scenic flight over the Whitsunday Islands with a 90 minute stay on the pure white silica sand of Whitehaven Beach.

You take off from Whitsunday Airport and fly out past Shute Harbour, the reefs around Dent and Hamilton Islands and over Whitsunday Island, with views of Hill Inlet's swirling sands before landing on the beach. Snacks and drinks are provided, so all you need to do is swim, walk the beach or relax on the sand before flying home.

Only your group of 2 or 3 is on the helicopter, which makes this a favourite for couples, proposals and special occasions. A free courtesy shuttle picks you up from your Airlie Beach accommodation.

Can I Book As A Solo Traveller?

Flights need a minimum of 2 passengers. Solo travellers can sometimes be matched with other guests, offered another date or tour, or pay for a second seat to lock in their booking. If a seat cannot be found, you are refunded in full.

What If I Get Air Sick?

Helicopters are much smoother than planes and boats, and fewer than 10% of passengers ever feel air sick. If you are worried, take an air sickness tablet before the tour as directed on the packet. Some work within 30 minutes, while others take up to 6 hours.
