Purley Whitehaven half day tour spends up to 2.5 hours at the beach. The 7 km-long beach has powder white sand made up of 98% pure silica means the sand doesn’t retain any heat from the sun, making it perfect for walking without burning your feet. during the time at the beach, you will have the opportunity to visit the Southern Lookout giving you views of the entire 7km of Whitehaven Beach.

- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

What a beautiful day with Sealink cruise around the Whitsundays the staff are fabulous they really make sure everyone is looked after the locations are breathtaking we had great food, catering for our vegan request was done brilliantly well, we had a wonderful time what a great trip! Our catamaran trip to the Whitsundays was lovely. The short walk on Whitsunday Island to the Hill Inlet lookout overlooking Whitehaven Beach was breathtaking – the views of the turquoise waters and pristine white sands were simply stunning. After taking in the sights, we boarded the catamaran for a short ride to the beach, where we spent a blissful couple of hours soaking up the sun and swimming.
The whole experience was elevated by the exceptional staff, who were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a fantastic time. The vessel itself was spotless and comfortable, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. With perfect weather conditions adding to the magic, this trip was truly a highlight of our trip to the Whitsundays.

The most expensive one of our choices but I believed it was worth the money. The services was great! The boat was grand. They provied the big bus for pickup and drop off, the terminal wait time was not long. The check in was very smooth. They even provided you a swim bodysuits to protect a jelly fish when you swim. Many seating area in the boat, big sofa and comfy. The staffs on board the small transfer boat verything was perfect!
Just one star off for lunch it was a bit off they served a cold grilled chicken.

This is a bit pricey option but well worth it 100%. We took the Big island day tour and the day was amazing. Very well planned. The boat is comfortable, with plenty of different seating options, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea (more like an actual second lunch) was plentiful and of decent food selection. Tour guides are helpful and nice.

What an incredible boat!! I've done quite a few trips here as a local to the Whits and I was SO impressed - the boat was stunning, the staff were awesome, the sights were incredible as always. They really went above and beyond and i think this trip is PERFECT if you have a family as they do everything they can to make the kiddos day particularly special and fun! truly magical trip, what a day!

This was an awesome trip doing the Whitehaven Beach Big Island Day Tour which I did on the 18th January 2025.
I was a solo traveler and Maddison ( mother duck) was awesome, as she made me feel welcome right from checking in and then at the end, but I got to say all crew members were awesome and very welcoming and friendly. The young guy ( from Hobart,Tasmania, sorry forgot his name) greeted me at the start of the cruise and he was awesome also and we had a good chat as I also was from Tasmania.
The day was nice, with clear skies and hot weather with a wonderful cruise from the harbour to Whitehaven Beach and then the time on the beach to the walk up to the lookout Maddison was an amazing guide job well done and worth the walk.
Morning and afternoon tea and lunch was all amazing, healthy and so yummy.
I would recommend this trip to anyone from a solo traveler to family’s and groups of friends as it doesn’t matter who you are as you make friends on this trip. Looking forward to doing it again with friends soon

I really loved my experience aboard the sealink catamaran. I like geography, this cruise makes the Whitsundays accessible in a comfortable way. I was lucky and enjoyed walking the trails barefoot with a nice earthy Australian. If you just want to have a ‘captain cook’ this is a very safe and comfortable cruise. Especially if you have trouble with the ocean.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
Knowing in advance that the weather conditions were going to be terrible to enjoy the tour as we wanted, they did not reschedule the activity and made us get on the boat during a storm so that we would not have the excuse of saying that the activity did not take place.
Clearly we couldn't visit or enjoy Whitehaven beach because of the weather and the only thing we did was sit on the boat watching it from there.
To make matters worse, we returned earlier than scheduled with the excuse that it made no sense to continue like this.
Clearly they just wanted to consider the excursion as done without caring about the experience we could get.
Horrible service and experience.
I do understand that weather conditions can change from one moment to the other and they are not responsible for that, but it was pretty clear that weather conditions yesterday were not going to be the best ones to do that tour.
Just give the option of cancel/reschedule before getting on the boat if you can see it’s raining and most likely going to get worse.

It was a nice informative tour circumnavigating Whitsunday Island. The ride was smooth and refreshing glasses of tropical fruit juice was delivered throughout the 2 hour voyage. The staff was super friendly and engaging if you desired.

Amazing day out with the family! I highly recommended this tour, Mel our tour guide on the walk through tongue bay was great, very knowledgeable with information about the Whitsundays and offered to take photos for us which was lovely. Whitehaven beach was by far the greatest part of the tour. The water was so clear and the kids loved running in trying to catch the fish. Definitely will visit again. Good amount of food was provided throughout the whole day and the whole crew were friendly onboard.

It was very well organized, and every crew member was incredibly friendly, creating a great atmosphere. Maddie, our guide (or “mother duck” ☺️) for the bushwalk, was very well prepared. She noticed that someone in the group didn’t have water and gave them a fresh bottle to ensure they stayed safe. She also explained everything in a clear and easy-to-understand way, so everyone could follow along.
On the way back to Airlie Beach, the crew spotted some container in the sea and immediately stopped the vessel to collect it. This really shows how much they care about the environment—so wonderful to see. Thank you for having us! 💙

Thoroughly enjoyed our Big Island Whitsundays Cruise which included a 2hr visit to Whitehaven Beach. The view from Hill Inlet was outstanding. Fortunately we were blessed with great weather which was reflected in our photos! The staff were all very professional and helpful. This was a popular tour so I'd suggest booking a few days in advance if keen. The food on board was OK, ie the gourmet lunch wasn't gourmet but was satisfactory as I didn't book the cruise for the food. Liquid beverages, ie beer, wine and soft drinks are available at a cost.

Very good, friendly staff. My other tour was cancelled without notice, I called sealink 08:30, a very friendly lady said that if I could come fast I could still join the tour(although she had many angry calls before from people who wanted to cancel due to weather conditions) I did the island tour, it was informative, well arranged, very good food. Very happy I could join! Although it was a rainy and windy day, it was amazing!

Very disappointing! As soon as we got into the ferry, they’ve told us we weren’t going to make it to whiteheaven beach beacuse of the wind. I understand it is a safery matter and I totally agree, but This is something the crew knew ahead of time. The main reason I booked this tour was to go that beach and we weren’t told ahead of time or given the option to re schedule for another day.
If you’re planning on booking with sealink, make sure you ask before getting on board if you’re gonna make it to whiteheaven.

I would highly recommend the Sealink Whitsunday day cruise. Whitehaven beach swim and hilltop walk. Such a great day! The Captain and crew were excellent. The boat is big and spacious with 3 levels. I highly recommend.

We had the best day at Whitehaven Beach with Sealink. Starting off with morning tea on the boat prior to arrival, tender to Whitehaven beach, guided bush walk to a lookout (not Hill Inlet) which is easy to moderate (quite alot of stairs) but i would say most fitness levels could manage it ok. We are both nearly 60 and managed it fine. Plenty of free time on the island to swim (stinger suits provided free of charge) and sun bake. Tender back to the boat around 1pm for a yummy lunch consisting of salads, marinated chicken pieces, Chicken tikka, rice and meatballs and pasta. Fresh fruits, cold meats, fresh tiger prawns, bread rolls etc. There was plenty for everyone and very enjoyable. After lunch the boat takes you to Hill Inlet where you once again tender to the beach for the walk up to Hill Inlet Lookout to see the most magnificent views of the turquoise swirling waters. We were blown away by the beauty of it all. After hill inlet lookout stop you get back onboard. Afternoon tea is also provided. We had a wonderful time on this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Worth every cent and can highly recommend.

I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Everything was perfect. All activities were timed very well, the trip out to the islands, the time spent at the sights and having food ready on return. The information shared by the guides was great, not over the top and if you wanted to know more, you could ask.

Very responsible and efficient service all day from the team, the narration from the captain was 2nd to none. Having an interactive map on board, so you can clearly view the trip progress was remarkable. The variety of food was a pleasant surprise, and the amount of time allowed to spend by the magnificent Whitehaven Beach was tremendous.
Only one point of improvement - if patrons are driving to Shute Harbour, a facility should be included in the package to account for parking fees.

I have just returned from a day trip with Sealink, cruising around the Whitsunday islands. It was one of the most amazing days of my life! I cannot thank the crew enough for what they have provided for us, so many activities were fit into the day. The booking contains a bus pick up from your accomodation at Airlie beach to Shute harbour, I requested a last minute modification and it was changed without a fuss, with the kindest message/email/phone call from Sealink. The bus arrived in time in the morning. On arrival to Shute harbour we met with the organisers and there was time for a quick coffee also we were given our rashguards. During the day, we were served with amazing food 3 times (catered to all dietary requirements), we visited Whitehaven beach where we spent 2.5 hours swimming, sunbathing, playing, we hiked twice to arrive at one of the most breathtaking views on Earth and during passage the captain absolutely loaded us with his vast knowledge about each of the islands. We even saw whales! I easily took 1000 pictures throughout the day. There is no way the price we paid for the cruise covers all of these. Thank you to everyone involved, you have worked so hard all day to make it an unforgettable experience for all of us.

The tour provided an excellent opportunity to see the stunning Whitsundays landscape. The boat was in good condition, and the staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the area. The journey was mostly smooth, though there were a few moments of minor turbulence. The commentary was informative, though occasionally difficult to hear over the engine noise. One downside was the limited time spent at each stop, which felt a bit rushed. While it’s a solid option for a brief overview of the area, those looking for a more leisurely experience might want to consider other options.

The day tour we were on was very well organised. Every one of the crew (including the shuttle driver) was excellent. We could not fault anything, it was all very good; service, safety, food, schedule, all of it. What we specifically liked was the focus on safety, how informative the individual crew members were, and how the entire day ran like clockwork. We liked the hikes to the lookouts, the interesting information supplied by the skipper, and how flexible the crew members were in catering to customers’ needs. We had a wonderful day trip with Sealink. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Maddie especially took great care of my kids. The boat was spacious and was not crowded. The food was delicious. And the whitsundays and white haven beach were amazing. My family of 6 which includes a teenager and a 3 year old all loved the experience. Would definitely do this trip again and would recommend Sealink to anyone. The Captain was knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information.

Had the most amazing time today , great family day out . So glad we went with Sealink , having a bigger boat makes all the difference comfortable , different seating options , air Con with wonderful food and crew !! The kids had a ball also ! This was the highlight of my trip! I went on the day tour to Hill Inlet and Whitehaven on the Nancy Wake. My original tour at a different company got cancelled because of bad weather, but I was lucky that this tour still has openings even though I booked on the day of. Excellent customer service all around. The lady at the front desk was able to efficiently book us on the tour even though the pickup bus was already past our hotel, and the service on board was wonderful. A morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea was included, and all of them was delicious. Great large boat as well, able to take on large waves and high winds. Just a note that it can become a rollercoaster ride on the boat for a few minutes if there are a lot of waves (personally I enjoyed it though).

This trip was a last minute plan, as the weather was a bit poor. But we hardly noticed the wind and rain at all.
The boat was well equipped, the food was fantastic, and the crew were absolutely amazing. Everything was so perfect even with the choppy seas and rain.

Absolut fantastic day! The few extra dollars compared to the other operators are absolutely worth it. We loved that they kept the size of the group limited to offer a better experience for everyone. The team was absolutely amazing. Definitely the best way to visit the Whitsunday Islands!

We had such a great time on our tour! The team onboard we’re fabulous and made the trip even more fun. The boat was immaculate and had updated facilities. The lunch had all the ingredients posted and had several vegetarian options which I really appreciated. I believe the gentleman’s name was Mack (long dark hair, ponytail, blue eyes), but he had a great sense of humour and was an exceptional guide. The tour is perfect to take children as well as the boat has many areas to spend time. Thanks for a great day!

This is the 3rd time I come to Whitsundays. I and my family took the Big Island Day Tour this time and I couldn’t recommend the experience more highly. The boat is so modern and comfortable, has both open area if you want a 360 view or indoor seating with aircon if it’s a bit too windy. The staff are all very nice and friendly to everybody and trying to help as much as they can. The trip is also very well designed with BOTH southern and northern itinerary in one day and more than enough time for each side. The food onboard was exceptional. We had breakfast (morning tea), lunch and afternoon tea. We even decided to skip the dinner after coming back as we were feed too full. Highly recommend this tour to everyone coming to Whitsundays. You should have a go!

We took the day tour to Whiteheaven Beach with Sealink. It was a wonderful experience and we can only praise the organizer. The day was well organized, the staff was extremely friendly, the food (breakfast, lunch and afternoon food) was exceptionally good. The climb to the viewpoint over Whiteheaven Beach was worth it. When we arrived at the beach we had enough time to enjoy this world-famous beach and a long swim. The captain's explanations during the day are also worth mentioning. They are comprehensive, supplemented with a lot of valuable background information. I can only warmly recommend this tour.

The actual experience has surpassed the description of the boat trip. This is mainly due to the crew having been good communicators, friendly and helpful, and having conducted themselves in a professional manner. The man who made the accouncements on the boat radio was really good at his job and was entertaining. The food was suprisingly tasty and had a good variety. I really liked that we had plenty of space on the boat due to it not being filled with people to maximum capacity. We also had nice sunny weather which resulted in beautiful photos and thanks to the full body suits, we could also enjoy swimming a bit at Whitehaven beach. The whole day had a pleasant pace and atmosphere - props to the whole crew!

My family really enjoyed the day tour with sealink, very comfortable and relaxing in the big aircon boat with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, a lot of space. Staffs are very friendly, we did both walks with Maddy, she is lovely. Whitsundays is absolutely stunning.

We had a wonderful day. We went with two young kids (1 & 3 years old) and it was perfect. The boat is big and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly, they are very welcoming and caring. Food was better than expected. Definitely something not to miss.

First rate!!! Every detail was taken care of perfectly. From the organization of the bus transfer, to ship safety, amazing sights with guided tours, to the friendly staff and good food…it was all there. Also a shout out to the captain of the Sealink…he gave a superlative commentary throughout the trip…just that was worth the trip! Go to the Whitsundays and Whitehaven beach with Sealink!

WOW! What an excellent day exploring Whithaven Island out of Airlie Beach on the Sealink "Big Island Day Tour" with a 2hr stop at South Whitehaven beach for a swim in the pristine waters before heading to Tongue Bay & hiking up to the Inlet Hill Lookout.

And we caught the free pick up/drop off bus - making it super convenient. And even the bus driver was great at recommending local areas for look outs across the Whitsundays. Well done Sealink.

Hello,
I was here a while ago for a little trip. I took the bus from Airlie Beach over here, which took about 20 minutes. Is simple and practical. The view from the parking lot or bus stop is good. There is a clear view over the bay and there is also a picnic area. From here it is only a 5 minute walk down to the harbor.

While the other reviewers are reflective of ours and a five star experience we wanted to say that the 5/5 rating is mostly due to engagement of the crew. It was clear to us that they too believed in the company’s commitment to passenger service. All crew pitched in and helped each other in their respective roles, they were polite and attentive throughout our day trip to Whitehaven Beach, and there was plenty of space and food available at the various times throughout the day.
Can’t thank them enough and the captain of course for the informative commentary.
The scenery was there well before anyone arrived in the area but if you’re reading this and want to see absolute splendor and aqua blue water and white sands then check it out in style and comfort of SeaLink. They won’t let you down - we’re convinced about that.

Brilliant. Friendly and helpful staff, large and modern vessel, family friendly and plenty of good food. Plenty of spare seats, moving around was easy and the cruise itself allowed plenty of time for activities.

Amazing experience! We did this with our 8 month baby and had the most incredible day. The boat was comfortable and the food was delicious but it was the crew that made the trip stand out. They were so helpful, friendly and informative, we couldn't have asked for more. We would 100% do this again and highly recommend. Thanks for such a wonderful day!

We absolutely loved our full day tour to Whitehaven beach. The boat is huge and the top viewing deck is incredible. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, you get the feeling they really love what they do and care about making the day great for everyone. Food was better than expected. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend this tour highly enough, the crew were fantastic and the morning/afternoon tea and lunch were amazing. The boat has plenty of space with a viewing deck up top and the stops were simply magical. Do yourself a favor and book it.

Awesome day out, with the very excellent Captain Dave & his friendly, professional crew. Super informative & comprehensive tour of the Whitsunday islands. Not crowded, very relaxed. Had the most amazing day on Nancy Wake with the Sealink guys on the Whitehaven Beach Big Island Tour! The crew were amazing throughout and we felt so well looked after - Dave especially was so knowledgeable and gave us history & facts about all of the islands we passed in the Whitsundays! The food was incredible and the itinerary was just perfect. I get bad seasickness so was a bit nervous at first but even in the (brief) rough waters I was totally fine as it was such a big vessel it handled it perfectly! Such good value for money and would highly recommend booking this trip 🙂

We had a wonderful experience on Sealink Whitundays Big Day Out. the vessel was superb, very comfortable and with every convenience. The wind was high on the day we went and the ship just cruised through the big waves. It was very exciting. Food was great and a nice glass of wine was just perfect. Tour and tour guides were fantastic. Would highly recommend it.

Our family of four, with two young kids, had an unforgettable day on the SeaLink Whitehaven Beach Big Island Day Tour cruise. "Amazing" doesn't even begin to describe it! From the moment we stepped on board, the crew made us feel welcomed and ensured our safety. The boat itself was pristine, very comfortable and very modern. They cap the people on board at 85 which is well under the capacity of the boat which makes the experience not overcrowded and the smorgasbord meals are great. The crew were amazing to say the least. Dave the captain shares his years of knowledge of the islands throughout the tour and along with his absolutely amazing crew they make a day that you will remember for ever. Dave and the crew are super friendly, amazing with the kids and genuine good people who are all about making your day the best it could possibly be. Highly recommended! 🙏

Excellent day out. The weather was perfect. The crew are so informative and the skipper gave a commentary on where we were situated during the cruise. The morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea were excellent! You cannot go hungry. We didn't manage to get to Whitehaven beach due to a weather change but we went to chance bay instead and I think it was better! Really well run and the boat is very large and plenty of space with excellent viewing deck on top. I have done other similar tours in previous years but this is hands down the best. Forget the other "quick" tours and take this one you won't regret it. I will definitely do this one again. Highly recommended.

Went on the half day cruise to white haven beach, find that it was a really good enough time on the boat and on the beach. The staff was all lovely and the beautiful spread of afternoon tea was delicious! Highly recommend it and we can’t wait to do it again! NB!! just in case pack a umbrella in☔️ because you’ll never know when that un expected shower may come 😊♥️ Enjoy!!!!

The weather was not good but the crew kept us entertained throughout the day. They still put on the optional walks for the brave ones and beach activities in the rain. The food was outstanding. Buffets can be hit and miss, and this one was a definite hit. Plenty on offer for all tastes and dietaries. The salads were especially good and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t eat salads.

Initially we wondered if the Sealink Whitsundays full day cruise might be too long, but in fact the time just flew by. It was a great cruise with lots of variety of activities and points of interest plus of course, the wonderful aspect of the islands themselves. Dave, our skipper, kept us informed of lots of interesting facts and bits of history and the rest of the crew could not have been more helpful and always smiling. )well I guess they did have the best office in the world!!). The variety of water and land activities was excellent and we really came back with a better appreciation for this stunning island group. I can’t recommend Sealink more highly.

We booked the big island cruise and had a great day. All staff were exceptional from the lady that took our booking to the staff on the boat. Food was laid on - morning & afternoon tea and lunch. We couldn’t fault anything. Will definitely recommend to all.

What an amazing way to see the Whitsundays. Excellent boat - clean, comfortable, spacious, multiple viewing areas. The crew were so accommodating and helpful. The food was healthy and delicious, plus the bar on board was well stocked.
The trip itself was stunning. We were flexible in our itinerary to deal with the weather, while still seeing the most beautiful spots. Optional hikes on the islands, or otherwise relax. Whitehaven beach is beautiful to sit and chill and soak up the island atmosphere.
Would consider this a must do in the Whitsundays!

We took a day trip with Sealink Whitsunday out to Whitehaven Beach. Great ship called Nancy Wake. Skipper Dan was awesome and handled and manoeuvred the vessel with great skills. His commentary was very informative, interesting and entertaining. The crew were very professional and worked so well together. Nothing was too much trouble. The meals were well prepared, presented and delicious. Transfer from ship to tender and to the shore excursions were handled safely and with great care. Attention to detail was second to none. We will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

SeaLink Whitsunday Big Island Day Cruise was perfectly tailored to balance a bit of adventure with an easy relaxed tour.
Our tour guides took us to stunning lookouts along an easy track (which older folk and small children coped with just fine) as well as a swim at Whitehaven beach. We enjoyed plenty of fresh food, a clean vessel and well organised friendly staff that made us very welcome.

Wonderful experience with fantastic staff. The day included being picked up from your accommodation & taken to the boat. Morning Tea, Lunch & Afternoon Tea all included. Very clean & well presented.

It was the start of a predicted wet week, so our day was overcast, blowy, and a little cooler than usual. However, we had a brilliant time, visiting the beautiful white beaches, and guided walks through the well-maintained bush tracks to lookouts. We could not have asked for better care from the crew. And the meals were amazing! Don't hesitate if you're thinking of booking onto this fabulous cruise. You won't regret a moment of it.

Fantastic day trip cruising the Whitsunday Islands. Including a walk to hill inlet lookout which had stunning views of Whitehaven Beach and the surrounding area. Also a stop at Whitehaven Beach itself where we went on another trail with our guide who gave us lots information about the islands. The cruise also included a delicious lunch and also morning and afternoon tea. The crew were very professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely book this trip next time I visit and would highly recommend it to others.
