Fun adventure to Whitehaven hills
Inlet lookout with short snorkeling tour . It’s a sail boat so it’s rough and not super comfortable. So think of this as an adventure rather than a luxury trip and it’s fine . Sure there is no shade and you are a bit squished together and if the sea is rough you will probably get wet . But we really enjoyed it as something different from a speed boat or a luxury catamaran. The sea was so smooth when we went out in the morning and we saw a pod of dolphins. We even saw a turtle when we arrived at Betty’s beach. Whitehaven was absolutely stunning. But then the weather turned and we got absolutely soaked in the little dinghy getting back to the ship. We couldn’t snorkel at the normal place as the weather got so rough so they took us around to a more sheltered area. The reef there was only okay but what can you do when the waves get that rough. We also got splashed quite a few times on the boat ride back as the weather was so rough. They have a food option and I do recommend it as it’s much easier than bringing your own and I found the food to be quite adequate. They didn’t get the sail out on the way there but they got it out on the way back although the motor was still on the entire time . Which is kind of a shame as I would’ve liked to have experience the silence of no motor engine . It’s a long day and you get about an hour and a half at Whitehaven Beach and maybe 45 minutes of snorkelling . This trip is all about the sail boat . If you’re up for a bit of adventure and don’t mind getting wet, this is a fun trip. The toilet was also broken on our trip, which wasn’t that big of a problem for us as there is a bathroom at Whitehaven Beach.

Great experience and amazing staff. I would recommend this experience if you love taking the time to take in the views from the ship. If you want to maximise your time snorkeling/seeing the whitsundays/whitehaven beach, I would recommend booking a different company, as the travel time from Airlie Beach to the spots was around 2.5/3 hours each way, meaning we spent most of the time on the ship and only around 3 hours doing the actual activities. I would book elsewhere if I was to visit again, but again, I recommend the experience and the great staff.

We just completed the day trip. I specifically booked with the Providence to get sailing ⛵️ experience, but despite good wind in the afternoon we unfortunately used engine all the time. Moreover, we spent about five (5) hours just on travelling back and forth purely NOT SAILING, despite the wind. In those hours, there was boredom, no social activities, 24 people were cramped like sardines sitting next to each other under the sun. Imagine the heat & uncomfortable position next to the someone who you don't know. I spoke to others, and they said they wished some social fun activities and music to kill the five hours time cooking under the sun.
The Whitehaven Beach is absolutely a haven on Earth. But, we spend only one and a half there. The snorkelling experience was 40 minutes nearby.. Too short for the best!!!!
The food was okay (nothing special), I liked it, the morning liquid yoghurt & a cookie, a small piece of kish+tuna wrap for lunch, and a five tiny piece fruit "kebab" for the afternoon tea. I can't complain, but I noticed other visitors unpacking their own food which means that it wasn't enough.
The crew was okay, but seemingly happy not to be disturbed.
If there is a microphone for everyone to hear well, this would be wonderful.
It seems that the business is a cash cow and the owners don't bother to implement anything to improve. If doing again, i would never pick this "sailing " boat. I would pick a fast bullet boat to experience the Whitehaven beach beauty TO THE FULL.

My sunset sailboat trip was absolute magic! The crew was incredibly warm and welcoming—especially the handsome French guy, whose charm and attentive service made the experience even more delightful.
A highlight was getting to help hoist the sails with other guests, collaborating to catch the wind felt so immersive and fun, taking the adventure to the next level. With the golden sunset painting the sky, gentle sea breeze, and great company, every moment was pure joy.
It’s not just a sail—it’s an interactive, heartfelt experience I’d rave about to anyone!

Spent the most chill and relaxing day out on the boat 🌊☀️ If you’re looking to soak up the sunshine and just enjoy sailing on the ocean, this trip is such a vibe. Sure, the speedboats kept zooming past us 🚤💨 but honestly, nothing beats taking it slow, feeling the sea breeze, and just cruising along (of course, good weather helps—and we were soooooo~ lucky, it was absolutely perfect that day 💯).
We spotted sea turtles 🐢 and dolphins 🐬 along the way, had yummy morning tea and snacks, tasty lunch wraps, and fresh fruit skewers in the afternoon. The captain and crew were super lovely, and I loved that everyone had to go barefoot on the boat—kept things clean and super chill.
Hands down, the best day trip we’ve done so far on the East Coast, all the way from Cairns to here ✨ Arrived at Whitehaven Beach around 10:30, had heaps of time to enjoy the white sands, and the snorkeling spot was stunning with beautiful corals 🐠🌴

Day out weather was overcast & wet but the trip didn't fail in any way. Trip out although wet was uneventful, Grant & Kevin were great hosts for the trip, fruendly and informative. On mooring we went out to snorkel Grant kept an eye on us all in the runabout, tip bring short fins & summer wetsuit if you feel the cold I had one & was fine but others in their swimmers were feeling the cold even though water temp was 25 deg. Masks & snorkels provided. Snorkeling was fun with plenty of fish & beautiful corals. After that to Tongue Bay for walk to lookout & over to Whitehaven Beach which is sooo beautiful. A trip worth taking, go for the lunch option the food was great with cookie & yoghurt for breakfast, chicken wrap & quiche for lunch then fruit for afternoon snack all delicious. Trip was around 10-11 hrs incl transport to & from marina. Great day out.

Definitely the highlight of our trip. Kevin was great fun and very knowledgeable of the wildlife in the area! Couldn’t have been friendlier, the boat was amazing and the snorkelling was out of this world. Thanks so much!

The snorkelling was great, got to see lots of coral and fish, it was a nice looking old boat and we got to use the wind and sail on the way back a bit. If you want to see the islands and aren't that fussed about the look of the boat then definitely go with the speedier boat tours that get you there quicker than in 3 hours. The crew were nice and helpful but it felt a bit unorganized and we could have done with a bit of information on the islands. Had a tiny lunch of just a small wrap (also no drinks on offer except water) and we didn't actually go to Whitehaven beach but Betty's beach. All other tours had stinger suits for the beach but we were only given ours for snorkeling so we had to make do with a paddle. Think the team just need a sit down and read some of the reviews as this could definitely be a better tour, at the moment it feels like a nice looking ferry.

Can’t believe some of the negative reviews on here…you can’t go sailing and not expect to get wet 😂
Such an amazing day. We wanted a sailing cruise experience rather than a speed boat and Providence V certainly delivered! We enjoyed every moment out on the water, laying down, relaxing and taking in the views (as the other crowded speed boats zoomed past!). Hospitality was great with friendly company, fresh food and cool drinks. Highlight of the day was seeing a Sea turtle! Would certainly recommend this option if you’re after the true sailing experience of the Whitsundays and a relaxing day out on the water. Thank you guys for the perfect experience.
